Hem/Oc Halloween Party

The Hematology/Oncology floor at Children's had a fun Halloween party today, thanks to the Midlothian Classic Car Club. It was awesome! They had amazing prizes for each patient and their siblings. It looked like Toys'R'Us in the playroom. I've never seen a Bingo game have such prizes!

Here's our little policeman, buff muscles and all.

Here we are...I'm dressed like a mom and Xavier is dressed like a man needing a shave. Inventive costumes, right?

Graydon wore this costume all day, and we let him because he is so cute! We had a bear outfit for Case, but he decided to sleep through the entire party! Party pooper.

One of the "Funnyatrics" clowns.

Graydon's prize was a band set, since he loves playing "Fresh Beat Band" (a show on Nickeldodeon).

I still have not gotten used to the amazing generosity and sacrifice of complete strangers. Our experience up here at Children's has been amazing. All the nurses, doctors, volunteers, and other patients and family have been so supportive and kind. It has forever changed me and has prompted me to become a better person!

  1. Awesome prize! I can't wait to play with it ;)
Sounds like ya'll had a blast- but I'm glad you're coming home!

  2. I am so happy you were able to take Graydon to a Halloween party. I love the picture of you and X. You are both so amazing!

  3. We went to the temple tonight and put Case's name on the prayer roll. We love you and pray for you. It is great to hear the positive along with the not so positive. Thanks for sharing your experiences.

  4. Emily, I have been thinking of you and your little Case today, and I didn't know why, until I saw your pics on facebook. I don't even know what to say, but that my whole heart goes out to you and X and your precious baby. Please know that our family will be praying and fasting for peace, comfort, and miracles. He is so blessed to have you as a mother. You and your testimony has been a pillar of strength to me in times of need. The Lord is aware of you. I wish I could be there to help you in some way.
    Love you all!

  5. Emily, I'm in tears after reading about all that has been going on for you and your precious little Case. I hope you were able to go home today. Case and your family will be in our prayers.

  6. Wow, just as you said, the generosity of people is so touching. Restores one's faith in humanity! But there is no group of individuals more deserving than sick children. Despite living at the hospital the last two weeks, you guys look really good. I liked your costumes. ;) Especially Graydon's! So glad you got to have a fun party - almost like a farewell party -- as you prepare to come home.

  7. I love this post! It made me so happy to see a little bit of happiness for the Beckham family. You all are so inspiring to me. Love you guys!
